AutoNarrow helps you filter dealer inventory, compare cars, and open the seller’s page for a specific vehicle.
Where the results come from
Listings, prices, photos, vehicle details, and seller links come from Auto.dev. This is one dealer-inventory feed, not a search of every car marketplace. Private sellers and some dealers may be missing. A small result set does not mean no other cars exist.
How matching works
Requested filters are sent to the inventory provider and checked again before results are shown. Listings missing a detail required by your filters are excluded. ZIP-code centers come from Zippopotam.us. Distances are straight-line estimates to the listed vehicle coordinates, not driving distances or delivery coverage.
Price and freshness
Prices are reported asking prices, not total out-the-door quotes. A low-price warning appears below $3,000 or when a price is less than 35% of the median of at least five returned prices above that amount. These checks can be wrong. Confirm the full price, fees, condition, options, and availability with the seller.
“Feed updated” reflects the provider’s timestamp when supplied. “Retrieved” is when AutoNarrow requested the data. Results may be reused for 15 minutes, and the provider’s information may be older.
Free search limits
Recent cached results are reused. Fresh inventory calls are capped at 12 per visitor per hour, 50 for the site per UTC day, and 850 over a rolling 31-day window. Other use of the same provider account can reduce the remaining allowance. Loading another page or changing the sort can require a fresh call.

Your device
When signed out, saved searches and your shortlist stay in this browser’s local storage. Remove them in the app or clear this site’s browser data. Signing in does not automatically upload these device-only items; choose Import in Account if you want to copy them into your account.
Accounts and saved items
Email sign-up stores your email address and a salted password hash, never your plain password. Email addresses are not currently verified, and password-reset emails are not available. Email and Google sign-ins create separate accounts.
If you sign in with Google, AutoNarrow receives your Google account identifier, name, and verified email. It does not receive your Google password or access to Gmail or Drive. Your account’s saved searches and shortlist are stored on the server and available after signing in on another device. Remove saved items in the app to delete them. An HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days; signing out revokes that session. Contact the owner for account deletion.
Google Identity Services is loaded to display Google sign-in when it is configured. Google handles its own sign-in cookies and privacy practices. The site also loads Google Fonts.
Search services
Search criteria are sent through AutoNarrow’s server to Auto.dev. For local searches, your ZIP code is sent to Zippopotam.us to obtain an approximate location. Listing images load from the image hosts provided by the feed, which can receive your IP address. Opening a seller link takes you to that seller’s site and privacy practices.
Stored searches and limits
The server caches search criteria-derived results for up to 15 minutes. Rate-limit counters use a daily-changing hash of your platform user ID or IP address; raw IDs and IP addresses are not stored in these counters. Counters expire within 31 days. Expired records are removed during later successful searches or submissions.
Reports and contact messages
A submission stores its text, selected reason, listing link and VIN when applicable, optional email, and time. The site owner can review it. Messages are retained for up to 90 days and removed during subsequent cleanup. Do not include passwords, API keys, payment details, or sensitive personal information.
Hosting and advertising
The hosting platform manages access and may maintain its own operational logs and cookies. AutoNarrow currently has no advertising or analytics scripts. This page must be updated before introducing them.
